The Biloxi Lighthouse.

 

It has survived many storms and has been renovated recently and reopened for the public.  The lighthouse is in the middle of U.S. 90 in front of the Biloxi Visitors Center, and just west of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

This was my second visit to Biloxi, the first time I did not have enough time to enjoy, this time I did.  It is beautiful city with so much history and the people are so friendly. I can't wait to come back again.

My trip to NOLA, New Orleans, Louisiana

This is the French Quarter in New Orleans. What a beautiful city.

 

The French Quarter, also known as the Vieux Carré, is the oldest neighborhood in the city of New Orleans. When New Orleans (La Nouvelle-Orléans in French) was founded in 1718 by Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, the city was originally centered on the French Quarter, or the Vieux Carré ("Old Square" in French) as it was known then. While the area is still referred to as the Vieux Carré by some, it is more commonly known as the French Quarter today, or simply "The Quarter." Although called the "French" Quarter, most of the present day buildings were built under Spanish rule and show Spanish colonial tastes. The district as a whole is a National Historic Landmark, and contains numerous individual historic buildings.

 

 

This is Jackson Square.

 

Jackson Square (formerly Place d'Armes), originally designed by architect and landscaper Louis H. Pilié (although he is only given credit for the iron fence), is an open park the size of a city-block located at the center of the French Quarter. After the Battle of New Orleans it was named after victorious general Andrew Jackson; an equestrian statue of Jackson is in the center of the park.

The Cathedral-Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France, also called St. Louis Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Saint-Louis, Roi de France), is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans; it has the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating cathedral in the (as now constituted) United States. The first church on the site was built in 1718; the third, built in 1789, was raised to cathedral rank in 1793. The cathedral was expanded and largely rebuilt in 1850, with little of the 1789 structure remaining.

 

Saint Louis Cathedral is in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, on the Place John Paul II (French: Place Jean-Paul II), a promenaded section of Chartres Street (rue de Chartres) that stretches one block between St. Peter Street (rue Saint-Pierre) on the upriver boundary and St. Ann Street (rue Sainte-Anne) on the downriver boundary. It is located next to Jackson Square and facing the Mississippi River in the heart of New Orleans, situated between the historic buildings of the Cabildo and the Presbytère. It is one of the few Roman Catholic churches in the United States that fronts a major public square.

Wildwood Crest - Cape May, NJ - Part 1

 This is a 3 part series on my visit to Wildwood Crest/Cape May.  There is so much to see in so little time.

This was taken at Bath Time a nice little store in Cape May, the colors on the different soaps caught my eye.

The following was taken on the roof of the hotel where I stayed at in Wildwood Crest.  Can you see how far the ocean is? Lots of sand to walk on to get even near the water.

Eagle Rock Reservation

This past weekend some friends and I visited the Eagle Rock Reservation in West Orange.  It's a small beautiful park with a nice view of NYC.  There is a nice September 11th memorial near the center that caught my eye.

  

My intention was to capture the "BIG MOON" of 2012 but it was overcast and we had to improvise.

SO my friend had a baton bubble stick and we all followed them to different places. 

 

I will be going back to Eagle Rock Reservation for the next full moon and capture some beautiful shots.

Football Autograph Show, Edison, NJ

I was back at

 another Football show, this one in Edison, NJ.  I ran into this extreme NY Jet fan. He was a nice man and as you can see had a cool costume.  He was a big hit with all the kids and Jets fans at the show.
