52 Week Project - Week 43

This weeks pictures comes from the American Museum of Natural History.  They had a beautiful exhibit; The Butterfly Conservatory.

This young lady made a best friend in the conservatory.

It was so much fun, I could have spent the whole day there.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Until next week!

52 Week Project - Week 36 - 42

Sorry I have not been around to update but I do want to finish up the year at the least.  I was inspired to start this up again by a good friend, the very talented SOAP45.

The following excerpt was taken from the sign that was posted under this beautiful Brahma Shrine:

"The Brahma shrine is renowned through the far east, to people of all faiths, as a place of prayer which in turn bestows prosperity and good fortune on those who come to visit and make their hopes and wishes known.

The casting ceremonies for the four-faced, eight-handed statue of the Brahma were held in Bangkok, Thailand on November 25, 1983 and many important religious authorities and international dignitaries participated."

Hope you liked this as much as I did when I saw it.

Until next week!

52 Week Project - Week 35

This weeks picture was taken at Glenfield Park in Montclair, NJ. There is a nice little path that you can walk through but it looks like it hasn't been used in a long time.  The handrails are new so maybe they'll be cleaning it up soon.

Hope you liked the pic.

Until next week!

52 Week Project - Week 34

This weeks pictures were compliments of Hurricane Irene.  The National Guard was called in to help out the town where I work due to flooding.

I was told that the airport behind our building was alot worse than the pics above.

Until next week!

52 Week Project - Week 33

This weeks pictures were taken in Montclair, NJ.  I used a Holga lens (Thanks for letting me borrow it Lui) that is made for Canon DSLR cameras.

The following pictures were UNTOUCHED by Photoshop.

The last two are little creepy and I LOVE IT!!!  This is the purpose of my hobby, taking pictures of various objects that capture my eye.

Gotta get me a HOLGA lens!!

Hope you enjoyed them!

Hasta la proxima semana!

52 Week Project - Week 32

Week 32 brought me to the SOHO NYC area.

I met Mr. Sergio Furnari.

He has recreated the Lunchtime Atop A Skyscraper, a famous black and white photograph taken by Charles C. Ebbets

The miniature version is AWESOME!!

You can purchase different size iron girders and chose different iron workers to be placed on them as you like.

So if you in the Soho area and see this, stop by and check it out.  Or you can check out his website, Mr. Furnari is very talented and it was a pleasure meeting him.

Until Next week!
